The Outsiders Portland Theatre reviews
No maybe about it, I was amazed!
The show was great from start to finish. First time I've seen Paul and his band, and will definitely go again if the opportunity arises. The band was great, the setlist was great, couple dozen Beatles songs, Wings songs, The Outsiders songs, his old stuff, his new stuff, and even a Quarrymen's song. When he did Blackbird with just him and the guitar he sounded fantastic, great rendition. Show started a half an hour late, but wasn't cut short as a result. Not a weak moment in the show, every single song was entertaining, and done just right. Amazingly enough, the sound was great despite the fact that I'd sworn off the Verizon Center because the acoustics and the sound are typically poor at best, horrendous at worst. Two hours and forty-five minutes of music, so I'm not complaining. The show was stellar, The Outsiders was on, energetic, engaging, and his voice and playing were both great. Clear, crisp, no mud, no garbled vocals. Don't know if that was a result of his sound people, or my seats, but I was surprised and quite happy about the sound quality, especially after being quite disappointed with that aspect when attending other shows at Verizon. I highly recommend, and I'd call Paul McCartney's live performance a must-see.
